This full day course is essential for all school leaders and managers involved in the appointment of staff. Based on an understanding of offender behaviour, it addresses the following:
' The key features of a Safer Recruitment culture.
' Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse and ensure its prompt reporting.
' Aid the review of own policies and practices in recruitment within a view to making them safer.
' The procedural steps and responsibilities of managers in these issues.
' Potential pitfalls and practical, appropriate solutions as well as imaginative, proactive strategies.
This is a highly interactive session; you'll be able to raise specific issues and questions.
Remember it is a requirement for at least one member of a recruitment panel to be appropriately trained in Safer Recruitment and it is considered good practice this is renewed to stay abreast of statutory updates and developments in practice.
