Mental Health is an important issue for all workplaces. It is estimated that 1 in 6 of the UK workforce are currently experiencing mental health difficulties.
There is a strong relationship between staff wellbeing and retention, attendance, performance and motivation at work.
To support employers in addressing this important issue Public Health England have recently launched a Mental Health Toolkit for Employers. The toolkit signposts users to a range of free, practical and accessible resources to help organisations review and develop their approach and culture with regards to mental health in the workplace. There is also guidance for managers in managing and supporting employee’s experiencing poor mental health at work.
