SPS Leadership Coaching

Coaching… ‘the process of unlocking a person’s potential to maximise performance. It is helping them to learn, rather than teaching them’ (Whitmore 1992).

Coaching is used successfully and extensively in the field of professional sport, with personalized 1:1 coaching helping the world’s best athletes stay at the top of their game. SPS offers school leaders a motivational, person-centred coaching offer enabling coachees to address an identified challenge, find a potential solution(s) and take action to realise their goals with a renewed sense of purpose, optimism, mindfulness and resilience.

How it works:

Our Coaches will facilitate a series of learning conversations with skilled questioning and support enabling the Coachee to develop their own insight and solutions. It is not for the Coach to tell or teach but to steer the Coachee to find their own learning, understanding and motivation and take action to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Focussed on your needs, we’ll work with you to agree a programme to suit. We’ll agree the focus of the programme ensuring personal goals are aligned with organisational priorities and context. We’ll agree the number of sessions whether a power hour (single session) or a full programme (typically 6-8 sessions) and the frequency. We’ll also agree it’s delivery whether face-to-face, Skype and/or via telephone.

Benefits of coaching:

Successful coaching will see a sustainable positive change in the Coachee, benefits include:

  • Increased self-awareness and insight into strengths and challenges
  • Greater clarity and focus on personal and organisational goals and the road to achieving them
  • Improved ability to navigate challenges and manage change; and more mindful decision making
  • Increased confidence and focus on personal wellbeing and resilience
